Are you tired of killing yourself and feeling as if you are never going to get ahead? You wanted your own business so you didn’t have to answer to anyone, but now you find yourself buried in day-to-day tasks. The allure of owning your own business is quickly starting to fade. You probably started off doing a little bit of everything because the business couldn’t support staff. Then it happened. You started to become successful and the demands of the business came faster than for what you can prepare. This can leave you feeling overwhelmed and wondering, “why am I doing this?”

First, understand that you are not alone. Your everyday trials and tribulations are not unique. The names and scenarios may change but other small business owners have the same struggles. How does knowing this help? You can be assured that there is a solution and a way out. Every day, small business owners get through it and take their businesses to the next level, it just takes a shift in your own mindset. You can do this!

Use your resources and save time. One of our most valuable assets as business owners is our time. Most of us certainly don’t get paid what our time is worth, especially when we are doing the day to day tasks of running the business. In order to use time wisely, think about what tasks could be delegated to a third party to accomplish. There are so many services, skilled staff members and organizational tools that can make our lives easier.

• Do you have employees that have talents that you are not utilizing? Maybe there is an aspiring marketing student among your staff that could help with your social media.
• Is there a staff member that might like a few more hours and could help with errands?
• There are even Virtual Executive Assistants that can manage your email. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Start by making a list of the things, as an owner, you don’t absolutely have to do yourself. You will quickly start recognizing ways to save time, clear that desk off and start working on your business!
